How to Use Your Human Design Chart IRL
Last week was the first Thursday of my Free Human Design Chart Readings and in my 1st session, my client said something that I’m sure you’re thinking too — what am I supposed to do with all of this information?
She must have said, “This is so spot on” at least 4 or 5 times in the short window that we had together. It always brings me so much joy and contentment to hear how much someone’s design truly resonates with them. To hear how validated someone feels in a session with me.
But, she also told me that she was a skeptic! She loves Human Design and thinks the information is fascinating but she was so confused on how to actually apply this information to real life.
I get it and I respect it. What’s the point of having all of this useful information about yourself if you don’t actually know how to apply it to your life?
Because just like my client, you too can be a skeptic and still use Human Design as a powerhouse tool in your every day life, if you’re open and willing.
Here’s the thing. You don’t need to “believe” in it the way you believe in gravity. You can treat it like a a personal experiment:
You test it.
You track results.
You keep what works.
You drop what doesn’t.
Human Design becomes life-changing when you stop using it as just “information” and start using it as a decision-making method. Because that’s what it is.
So if you’ve ever said:
“I feel like I know myself… but I don’t know how to live as myself.”
“I’m overwhelmed by options.”
“I can’t tell if I’m forcing things or if it’s just hard.”
“I’m tired of going against myself.”
“I feel like I’m working so much harder than others.”
This is for you.
Below is the simplest way to apply Human Design to your career, relationships, income streams, wellness, workouts, routines and daily choices — without it feeling like spiritual homework.
The real reason Human Design works is it reduces self-betrayal.
Most people aren’t stuck in life because they lack motivation or talent.
Let me be SO for real. Every single person on this Earth is special and gifted and talented at something(s).
They’re stuck because they keep making decisions from:
urgency
fear
what they’ve done in the past
people-pleasing
what they see works for someone else
what looks good
what they should want
what feels safe
Human Design gives you a way to make decisions from:
your actual energy
your actual timing
your actual needs
your actual truth
your authentic self
It may sound very “woo woo” at first place, but I promise you, it’s just about aligning your energy.
So, together, let’s walk through a few simple steps of how you can start applying this life-changing information into your daily life.
Starting now.
Step 1: Stop trying to apply everything. Start with your Big 3.
If you only understand + use three parts of your chart, use these (this is what I cover in my Human Design Chart Reading Session.)
1) Your Energy Type (and Strategy)
This answers: How do I move through life without forcing? How do I make things happen for myself?
2) Your Authority
This answers: How do I make truthful decisions I don’t regret?
3) Your Profile
This answers: How am I designed to learn, grow and be seen?
Everything else is powerful, but these three are the core of how you operate.
Step 2: Use Human Design like a 30-day experiment
If you’re skeptical, perfect. Treat this like an experiment. Test the waters without judgement.
The 3 rules:
Pick one area of your life (career, dating, health, money).
Make decisions using your Authority for 30 days.
Track what changes.
Tip to remember here: Just because it’s uncomfortable doesn’t mean it’s unsafe.
What to track (keep it simple):
Do I feel relief after decisions?
Is my body calm or tense?
Am I more consistent?
Is this something that I do because it’s what’s comfortable for me (what I know) or do I do this because I genuinely trust in what I’m doing?
Do opportunities come easier?
Am I less resentful/burnt out?
Do I trust myself more?
That’s the proof.
Step 3: The most practical breakdown — How to use your chart in DAILY life
Example: Career + Life Purpose: “What work actually suits me?”
Human Design won’t teach you how to “pick the perfect job.” It will teach you how to choose roles and environments that match your energy, skills + gifts.
Apply your Type to career:
Generators / Manifesting Generators
Your success code: satisfaction + sustainable energy
Ask: “Do I have a full-body yes to this?”
Best work: where you can build mastery, get consistent reps in and respond to real demand
Red flag: choosing a path because you feel “obligated”, it’s “smart” or what you “should do” while your energy is dead and drained
Manifestors
Your success code: freedom + initiating
Ask: “Do I want to start this? Do I want to lead this?”
Best work: independent roles, leadership, innovation, autonomy
Red flag: being micromanaged or needing permission to act
Projectors
Your success code: recognition + being invited
Ask: “Am I being seen and valued here?”
Best work: guidance, strategy, leadership through insight, mentorship, consulting
Red flag: trying to outwork everyone to “prove” your worth
Reflectors
Your success code: environment + timing
Ask: “Do I feel like myself here?”
Best work: roles that allow flexibility, variety, reflection and the right community
Red flag: staying in environments that make you feel heavy and boxed in
Okay, now let’s get granular here.
Career applications (real-life):
Job search: Don’t apply to everything because you’re frantic + fearful. Respond to what lights you up (or what your body relaxes into).
Promotion decisions: choose based on energy + lifestyle fit, not your ego.
Networking: stop “pitching” and start positioning yourself where your gifts are recognized.
Work schedule: build around your natural energy rhythms (not your ideal self).
Something to journal on:
What parts of my work give me energy while I’m doing them or put me in a flow state, not just after I’m praised?
Money: How do I actually make money in a way that doesn’t exhaust me?
Human Design changes your perspective around money when you stop treating it like a hustle problem and start treating it like an energy management solution.
Apply Authority to money decisions:
Don’t invest, sign, launch or commit when you’re dysregulated.
Don’t choose from panic.
Don’t buy things to become a different version of you.
Money becomes steadier when decisions become cleaner.
Super practical money applications:
Pricing: choose pricing that your nervous system can hold. If you’re undercharging and resentful, your chart will scream.
Offers: build offers that match your energy (e.g., MG variety, Projector depth, Manifestor leadership).
Income streams: choose one primary, one secondary — so your energy doesn’t feel fragmented.
Spending: use your authority for “big yes” purchases; everything else can be routine.
Something to journal on:
Do I want this because it’s aligned or because I’m trying to calm my anxiety and get rid of my fear?
Relationships: How do I love and communicate without losing myself?
This is where Human Design gets painfully real (and incredibly healing).
The #1 relationship upgrade: stop overriding your Authority
So many relationship shit storms happen because we:
say yes when we mean no
commit when we’re unsure
stay when our body is done
rush intimacy because we fear losing someone / something
Your Authority is about your relationship to your self-respect.
Granular relationship applications:
Dating: only keep seeing someone if your body is a yes, not just your mind.
Conflict: know your emotional timing (especially if you have Emotional Authority).
Boundaries: stop over explaining.
Compatibility: it’s less about “same interests,” more about “do I feel calm, present and seen around this person?”
Something to journal on:
When I’m with this person, do I become more myself — or less?
Wellness + Nervous System: What health habits actually stick?
Human Design is amazing for wellness because it shows you how to stop treating your body like a machine.
Practical wellness applications:
Energy management: rest is not a reward; it’s maintenance.
Food & lifestyle: your body will tell you what works when you stop overriding it.
Consistency: choose fewer habits, but make them actually sustainable.
Something to journal on:
What does my body ask for when I’m not trying to be “good”?
Workouts: How should I move my body?
Human Design won’t give you one universal workout plan, but it will help you stop forcing movement that doesn’t match your energy.
Examples:
Generators / MGs
Thrive with consistent workouts that they genuinely LOVE (as an MG myself, I can easily stay in the gym for 1.5+ hours because I love strength training)
Best when they follow what they’re responding to (music, vibes, a challenge)
Watch out for overtraining when excited (MGs especially)
Manifestors
Do best with autonomy: shorter, powerful workouts; cycles of intensity + rest
Consistency comes from freedom, not rigid plans
Projectors
Focus on efficiency and quality. How can you get in + get out to make the most of your time
Burnout happens when they train like a Generator / Manifesting Generator
Reflectors
Do best with variety + gentle movement; environment REALLY matters
Track how you feel in different studios/gyms/communities
Something to journal on:
Do I feel energized after this, or depleted and irritated?
Everyday routine: How do I use this work on a random Tuesday?
Now this is the good stuff. Human Design is meant for all of the small decisions.
The “Human Design Daily Check-In” (5 minutes)
What’s my body saying today?
What am I forcing right now?
What’s one decision I can make using my Authority today?
What’s one thing I can stop doing out of guilt?
What would make today feel like success? (for me, not my ego)
That’s it.
Authority: the most important “how-to” of all
Mini guides:
Emotional Authority
Not now is a complete answer.
Sleep on it. Wait for calm clarity.
Track your yes across multiple days.
Sacral Authority
It’s a body response: uh-huh / uh-uh.
What sounds are naturally coming out of your mouth when you respond to something?
Ask yes/no questions.
If it’s not a clear yes, it’s a no (for now).
Splenic Authority
Quiet, instant knowing.
It speaks once.
If you’re debating, you missed it.
Ego Authority
Do I want it? Will the decision make me feel more me?
Desire matters. Motivation matters.
If it’s a “should” it’s usually a no.
Self-Projected Authority (G-Center)
Talk it out and listen to yourself.
Your truth emerges through your voice.
Choose what feels like you.
Mental Authority
Use trusted sounding boards.
Clarity comes from the right environment and dialogue, not pressure.
Lunar Authority (Reflectors)
Give it a full cycle (28 days) for big decisions when possible.
Track how your body feels in different places/with different people.
Human Design is only powerful if it becomes integrated.
Your 7-day Human Design Challenge
For one week:
Make one decision per day using your Energy Type + Authority
Notice what happens when you stop forcing
Watch how quickly your life simplifies
Remember, the goal isn’t to “believe” in Human Design.
The goal is to trust yourself again.
